Surgery Update

Kelly came out of surgery at about 5:00 and is recovering quite well. Her doctor is amazed at how alert she is after the surgery she just had. As I write this, she is enjoying a popsicle in the beautiful, brand new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. It is so nice to have a private room and she likes having her own TV.

Dr. Muhonen was able to remove the tumor, but as we feared, it is the glioblastoma. It is behaving very aggressively and has already grown since her MRI last Wednesday. We will find out this week what her next treatment plan will be.

We really appreciate all of your kind thoughts and prayers. She really needs them now more than ever as she has a really tough fight ahead of her.

Thank you so much to Linda and Tricia for spending today with us. It helped so much having you here.

Thanks for the update - we've been thinking about you guys all day.
It's good that you can get some rest in pleasant surroundings. We realized today that Amy's dad knows your doctor. He says you're in great hands- but you already know that.

Hey Kelly!

You are a real trooper, young lady, and your courage and strength are amazing. So they saved the new section of the hospital for you?! Only the best for you, sweetie. You are in our daily prayers and my students are sending their arrow prayers and asking God to keep you strong. So glad your Dad got to be with you for your surgery. Love to your family and a big hug and kiss for you.

Love,
Laurie and Mark

Hey Baby!
Know that I am surrounding you in loving white healing angel light. You are one strong cookie my friend. Stay strong but remember to giggle along the way ok? I mean the stuff they do to our bodies for this cancer crud?!? I mean who thinks up this stuff? I laugh at everything now. So glad to hear you got good room digs and great doc's. (any of them single? cute? rich? ;) ) And what were you thinking letting Catalina Eddy drive in Hawaii? You ARE brave!
If you feel up to it, come play with us on Halloween. Julie and Molly will be here too :).
Hugs Love and Light,
