Snow Days!

One of my wishes has come true. We got to go to the snow for the weekend. It was so much fun. When we first got to Mark and Laurie's cabin, there was some snow left, so we could go sledding behind the cabin. That's where the pictures were taken. I know that doesn't sound like a big deal to some of you that live farther north, but there is no snow where we live, so we have to drive to the mountains to see snow. Luckily, that is about 2 hours away.

The next morning we woke up and it was actually snowing! There was snow everywhere. Shannon and I ran out at 7:00 in the morning to play in the snow. It was beautiful. I was really hoping it would snow while we were there. It wasn't supposed to snow until Tuesday, but it started a day early. I was so glad we got to see the snow, even though it was a little scary driving down the mountain in it. It was a wonderful weekend. Thanks Mark and Laurie for help make one of my wishes come true! We really enjoyed spending the weekend with you.

There are more pictures we want to post, but we just lost them on our computer somehow. Hopefully we'll figure it out this week, then we'll post some more snow pictures.

Tomorrow I have my next chemo treatment so I'll be at the clinic most of the day. Dad is flying to a meeting in Washington DC in the morning, but at least he'll be back at the end of the week this time.

Hi Kelly!
The snow pictures are great! Mark and I left the cabin at 11:30 a.m. and it was still snowing. Luckily, most of the road down was snowplowed and we didn't have to put chains on (even though the sign said we did). I wish we could have had more time to spend together today, but it sure was great being with you and the family. It was so exciting waking up this morning and seeing all the snow. I'm so glad you had a good time. Good luck with your chemo treatment tomorrow. Just close your eyes and picture yourself back in the mountains. Maybe it will help the time pass by quicker. Love to you and the family!

Hi Kelly,
Wow! That looks like you had so much fun!!!! I'm so glad it snowed for you! Sorry we missed your call today. We were at Disneyland. We got there a little late. Around 2:00, and headed to Thunder Mountain. After waiting in line for about 40 minutes, we were almost to the stairs, when the ride broke down. We had to exit so we headed over to Indiana Jones. That had a 50 minute wait. We got in line, and after about 30 minutes, the same thing happened!!! Aagghhh! Luckily, when we went on Space Mountain next, we actually made it on the ride without it breaking down! We rode Buzz Lightyear, and had dinner, and then came home. That will teach us to try going on a holiday! We will call you this week, and make plans to get together. The girls have a few nights at the theater this week, but we will work something out! Take care, and I will pray you feel okay after your chemo tomorrow, and that it is doing the job it is suppossed to! Love Debbie Meyering

Hi Kelly,
What fun it looks like you all had!! Playing in the snow just can't be beat! Glad you made it home safely too! We wanted to go to Mt. Hood on our day off yesterday, but it was too cold and windy - they actually closed the ski area! It sounds so neat to be able to just walk out the door and be in snow! I'm so glad you all could go do that with your friends! I agree with Laurie - you can just picture yourself back in the snow while you're doing the chemo thing today.

Kelly,
That snow looks absolutely breathtaking! Even if we do get snow in Indiana it is so flat the poor kids around here have to find a steep driveway to slide down, haha! Our big snow ended up just being a dusting so no “2-hour delay” for school today. Oh well, I guess I can’t complain, we DID have Monday off !

I will be thinking of you as you start back on the chemo, sending you warmth and healthy thoughts to get through it! I’m glad to hear Dad will be around by the end of the week!

Take care and get your rest!
