La Jolla Here We Come

We have Kelly's gamma knife procedure scheduled. It was harder than we thought to get her on the schedule since the Newport Beach location isn't operating right now. She is scheduled for Friday, November 16th, in La Jolla, near San Diego. They want to have her down there the day before so we can meet with the radiation oncologist who will be working with Dr. Loudon, the neurosurgeon from CHOC that will come down for the procedure Friday morning. The gamma knife center will put us in a hotel Thursday night. We are hoping to make this just a little bit fun for Kelly. La Jolla is a nice place to spend a couple days, so we to do a little bit outside the hospital while we are there.

Kelly has been very tired, so we are keeping an eye on her to see if we need to run some tests to find out what is going on. She has perked up today since our friends from Texas have arrived for a long weekend. Sharon and her daughter, Allison, who is Kelly and Megan's age, are here for a visit. It is great to have them here.

Hi Kelly,
You and your mom are the best at finding the positive side of things! I hope it's a really nice hotel - you and your mom deserve a 5 star hotel! I remember being in La Jolla with you a long time ago - you , Meagan and Emily were all toddlers! I hope you all have fun with your visitors!

Hey Kelly,
Have fun with your half-sister Allison (Mom has referred to her former Texas roommate of six years, Sharon, as her ex-wife. That makes Allison your half-sister).
Lots of Love!

Dear Kelly,
I remember going to La Jolla with you when you were a toddler. Your father bought me a tee shirt that said "Give me some chocolate and no one gets hurt" at the Chocolate Factory. If that is still there.... they had frozen chocolate covered cheese cake. I spoke with your great aunt Ella Friday night. She and all your family in PA and NY send their love, as all of NJ does too.
Love Aunt Denise

Hi Kelly,

Hope you had a fun Halloween! My Mom sent some pictures for you from our Halloween--hope you got to see them. She sent them to your email address.

My Mom was telling me you were having treatment at the town where we saw the seals on the beach, so I thought she meant you were going to have treatment on the beach!! Well, anyways, I hope you get to spend time on the beach while you're there!

See you next month!

Hey Kelly this is Becky, I am so sorry I have not talked to you in just about forever, but I have been up at my grandmas for the past week, due to my grandpa's death. It sounds like you are having a bit of a rough patch right now, so just feel free to call me when you are feeling better so we can get together.
luv you lots,
