A Weekend Away

Kelly had chemo yesterday and we were very happy to be able to come home at the end of the day.  She was pretty nervous after what happened last time when she was admitted and spent five days in the hospital.  But her doctor reassured her that it shouldn't happen again, and it didn't. She has been on two different meds to protect her stomach.  She did much better and actually slept through a couple hours of the afternoon.  She did get sick at the end, but that is still much better than all the buckets she went through last time.  They think she was fighting something viral two weeks ago and that is what made her so sick and eventually caused the fever.  She is resting comfortably today and catching up on her "Charmed" reruns.  She feels better as long as she has food in her stomach.  She has a theory that if food is going down, it can't be coming up.  As long as she feels better today.

If you have been following Kelly's story long enough, you may remember last year when she got to meet Mia Michaels, one of the choreographers from So You Think You Can Dance?  The girls get to see her again this weekend.  Megan and Shannon's Dance Team is going to "The Pulse", a dance convention in Las Vegas.  They will get to take classes with some the the Dance Choreographers from the show.  They are so excited.  Megan's advanced team will be performing in the the showcase Saturday night in front of the choreographers.  Kelly is going too and looking forward to a weekend away and getting to see Mia again.

Hi Kelly! Great news on the chemo. I was thinking about you yesterday because I know it must have been scary to restart the chemo after last time. I am happy to read it went relatively well!

So anyhow, yesterday I posted about those snowmen to you. Today the home-visit vet came to see Gabby and looked around the house like she thought I was a bit odd - guess so, there are snowmen everywhere and I have a plaque hanging on the wall with a snowman face that says "warm winter wishes;" tomorrow it is supposed to set an alltime high at 73 or so! But the snowmen did not want to be in the cupboard anymore and Christmas is coming so it is time!

I hope you have a wonderful time and though what "happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" I hope we get to see some pictures of Megan and Shannon! Enjoy the weekend!

Love,
Pat ^..^

Hey Kelly, well, glad it was only a one bucket day. Getting through it one day at a time...that works!!

You guys are so lucky, going to Vegas. Oh yeh, I forgot you live in CA, so not that big of a deal for you. Now for us, Vegas would be awesome. It's starting to get cold here, and this is just the beginning. When you're ready to experience some REAL weather, we are inviting you out for a visit to NYC and to us in Long Island (I'm serious.)

Hang in there girl, you're doing AWESOME!!

Love from NY
Kim and team Hannah

Hi Kelly,

Congratulations on a good round of chemo. If you try your luck with the roulette wheel, here's a tip: if you start winning, walk away; if you lose from the get-go, RUN!

Have a good time!

Dear Kelly,
