Our house is so quiet. I am not used to being here without anyone. Even during the school year, Kelly is always here and I haven't been away from her since she was diagnosed a year ago. And Kevin is back in Hawaii. I was a little worried about it and yesterday morning as we were loading the car, I thought, Why did I sign them up for this??? But we arrived at the Ronald McDonald House in Orange where the bus was meeting them to take them up to camp and met other campers and the wonderful counselors, they were already at ease and looking forward to the fun week ahead. I drove home happy that they were going to have such a great week in the mountains. And I am looking forward to going out to dinner and a movie with friends tonight!

Camp Ronald McDonald
If anyone is interested, there is a website for the camp they are at and they are posting photos thoughout the week. They already have photos up of the cabin groups. Shannon is in cabin 4 and Megan and Kelly are both in cabin 12. Follow the link below to the website, click enter, then on the Home page, click the camera where it says Find Your Camper. The current session will be at the top center of the photo page.

If you haven't read Kelly's post from yesterday, it is just below.

Hi KAth!
All 3 girls look quite happy in their cabin photos at camp! How neat that we can follow along during the week and sneak a peak or 2 at what fun they are having!
Enjoy dinner & a movie tonight!
Lots of love,
Tracy
Hi Kathy,
The camp looks like a blast..great pictures...brought some tears even. It's just wonderful..okay we got the house!!! I just got a phone call a minute ago! Yeah!! Shoot me an email when you can get together before we leave.
XOXOX Karla
I hope the girls have a wonderful camp experience and enjoy making new friends. Enjoy your "alone time" and pamper yourself, Kathy, because you certainly deserve it!

SuperKath-
You remain the unflappable breezy center of wonderful & loving whirlwind! For your flick tonight, if the ladies haven't made you catch it yet, I give you TRIPLE your money back on WALL-E.
Enjoy...and don't hesitate to come up THIS way now that the horses are running. Special Backstretch passes for the girls...

Saratoga Springs
Well I love catching up and reading about all of your fun so far this summer. The pictures from vacation are wonderful! Looks like you all had lots of fun. Now camp, away from home (Mom, how great is that?) One whole week??? I don't know if my kids could do that, but I know lots of kids do and have so much fun. We can't wait to hear all about it when you all get home.
Kelly-maybe they have GOOSEBERRIES there too!
Love from NY

Hi Kathy,
I can only second Super Kyle's suggestion to go to Saratoga Springs. It's beautiful countryside, there are lots of nice restaurants, and shopping, and if you like the races, go for it! Also, if you had a reasonably early start, a day trip to Montreal would be within reason. You and Kelly are all set with passports. I don't know if passports are required for Canada yet. The government keeps changing its position on that. The Canadian Tourism Office would know.
If you do decide to go, there is one suggestion I would make. Contact your car insurer and tell them the dates you'll be gone and ask them to issue you a Canadian inter-province insurance card. It's free. If you should have an accident, the card is proof positive that your insurer will cover you in Canada.
Take care.
