A Walk in the Park

The CHOC Walk on Sunday was a great success. Thanks so much to everyone who joined us (and made it so much more fun) and everyone who donated to CHOC.  It was a great experience for all of us and we enjoyed being part of Team SuperBay.  Shannon and Bailey promised each other they would walk together.

Pam and Ashley enjoyed walking much of the time with Shannon and Bailey!

Kevin being Kevin.  He did help carry the banner part of the time.

Unfortunately, Megan stayed home sick (she just had a cold, but we didn't want to spread her germs) , but it was so nice to spend the daywith Shannon and Kelly!

Kelly was happy her friends Katie, Kristen and Sandy came.

Shannon and Ashley dancing their way along the walk through Disneyland

California Adventure was also part of the walk.

Baby AJ, a leukemia survivor, (carepage: Papa Anthony Joseph)  gets out of his stroller to pose with the girls and Bailey.

Bailey did ride piggy back for part of the walk.

It was really moving to see so many people come together for this event to support CHOC.

Tomorrow, Kelly has chemo.  Hopefully she'll do OK, She had a rough day today when she went to CHOC to have her labs done.  We were happy to meet Michelle and her son Grayson, who came down for his MRI. I met Michelle on the website, People Against Childhood Cancer  http://curechildhoodcancer.ning.com/
This is such a great group, looking for ways together to promote awareness of childhood cancer so it will receive the funding it needs.  I have mentioned this website on here before, but it is a really good group to join if you are interested in helping childhood cancer.  It doesn't cost anything and you don't have to have a child with cancer to be part of it.

Here is Kelly with Grayson waiting for his MRI. (I'm going to email you this photo Michelle!)

Hi, Kelly! I am a special angel that will be praying for you each and every day. Looks like the walk on Sunday was a great time! I pray that chemo goes well for you tomorrow. Thanks for getting the word out there about People Against Childhood Cancer! What a great group it is that AJ's dad has started.

Hey Kelly,
I had a lot of fun volunteering with you at the children's symphony concert on Saturday morning. I like having one special thing that we can do together.
You did great work inspiring folks to donate to the CHOC Walk on Sunday. The money that you helped raise will help a lot of kids.
Loov you!

Hi Kelly! I hope chemo went well today. I was in Kohl's - you know, retail home of the moose (which Brian Williams called "mooses" the other nite!) and the checkout guy said to me, "would you like your reindeer in a separate bag?" and without thinking I said to him "that's a moose!" Finally, I can tell them apart! I am pretty sure he really did not care one way or the other but it was like a knee-jerk reaction to point out it was NOT a reindeer! You have trained me well :) Feel well and get some rest!

Hugs,
Pat

Speaking of moose, Target has a standing lighted grapevine moose decoration in the Christmas section this year! Maybe they've had it in years past, but it's the first time I've seen one! I think the Laude home needs one in the front yard!! Maybe one needs to go in Kelly's bedroom! ;0) You can view it on Target.com

Kelly, I hope today went smoothly for you with your chemo treatment!

We all love the CHOC walk photos! Looks like everyone had a great time!

Love,
Aunt Jenny, Uncle Bob, Kylie and Ryan

Hey Kathy,

It was great to see and walk all together on the same team for the CHOC walk! Kelly, you are a beautiful girl and we are so glad to have met you finally! What a great way for our families to give back to CHOC and I'm looking forward to it as much as you for next year (HOPEFULLY this time I won't be pregnant LOL). Let's both get on Michell about getting together. We need to before I have Baby Matthew or no telling when I'll have time again :)

Keep in touch and hoping Kelly had a good chemo day, as good as can be :)
