Arts X-press and RFL Luminaria Ceremony

Kelly has been featured on another blog - Arts X-press. This is a wonderful summer program through the Pacific Symphony at UCI that she was part of two years ago. The staff there has been so wonderful about keeping up with Kelly and supporting her. Some of them have brought us meals also. Check out the post on their blog - there are photos too. You can also click on the yellow link in the post that says "Kelly's Blog" to see their first post about her. Thank you so much Pacific Symphony and Arts-X-press staff. You have been such a blessing for Kelly!

Kelly is having such a better week than normal for a chemo week! There really is something to those seeds on her pressure points. The ones on her wrist came off right away in the shower, but the ones in her ear are still there. She felt nauseous yesterday morning, but when she rubbed the seed on her ear, she felt better. Yay! It is so nice for her to feel better without extra meds. She is just pretty tired. We'll take that over her usual chemo yuckiness.

Relay for Life News ~ I have Luminaria bags that will be used in a special luminaria ceremony the evening of the Relay. Names are put on the bags In Honor of a cancer survivor, or someone currently fighting cancer, or In Memory of someone lost to cancer. This is an easy way to contribute to Relay for Life while honoring a friend or family member. You can order a luminaria online through our team website, or you can order one directly through me. Either way, the name will be on the bag, but I will be decorating our bags also. Luminaria bags are $10 whether you order them online or directly through me. If you want to order one through me, you can just send me a check for $10 per bag, made out to the American Cancer Society and will count toward our Team Kelly total. Let me know what name you would like added and whether it is In Honor of, or In Memory of. I can add a photo if you send on to me.These luminarias will line the track and the candles inside the bags will be lit at a special ceremony at twilight, and then burn all night. Email me if you need our address or have any questions. kathylaude@cox.net

Also, if there is anyone who is interested in joining TEAM KELLY and hasn't signed up online yet, we will be having a team picnic and meeting Sunday, March 16. Contact me for more details if you are interested.

Dear Kelly,

What's this I read about FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARTS?! Yikes, what a sum. Mind you, I have complete faith in you that you'll raise it. You look as if you're having fun with most of it (except for the chemo, of course). I truly hope that's the case.

I confess, I'm curious about those seeds. I wonder if any seed will do as long as it's attached to the right pressure point, or do they have to be the seeds of a particlar plant? Either way, it's intriguing. Of course, we're delighted that they WORK!

Keep up the good work.

Henry

Hi Miss Kelly.. and Ms. Kathy.. you guys are.. Busy busy busy! Way to go Team Kelly! I would love to be at your team picnic.. but I can't. However, I was continplating a way to get my team together before relay.. I think a picnic/BBQ might be the way to go.. or pizza (my personal favorite!) We shall see.
Had a fabulous time at the beach. We are going again in a few weeks, but next time for longer! Glad to hear your doing super with the chemo this time. That is always good news. Have yourself a great week! TTFN
Cyber Hugs to you guys!

Dear Kelly,

I just checked out your "thermometer," and I have to admit I'm impressed.

I also checked out the Team Kelly roster. The team is growing, but I see you signed up twice. That's good, because that way, you might be able to violate the law of physics that says that one body cannot be in more than one place at one time. One Kelly could be at the starting line, one could be at the finish line, then you could sort of meld together and write a paper telling how you did it. I see a Nobel Prize here. That's a million bucks. You'd never have to work. Wow!

Now do you see why I don't do physics translations?

Take care.
Henry

P.S. Never having to work was Fergus' ideal. One time he saw a team of horses pulling a wagon, and boy, did he get bent out of shape. Horses just standing around in a field didn't bother him, but work really upset him. Sometimes I can relate to that.

Hi Kelly,
First, congratulations on your association with Arts X-ress!! I am happy to read that you are doing so well, and that you are getting the relief from the nausea from those seeds. (wish we had known about that when my Kelly was going thru chemo)

I also want to congratulate you on your fundraising efforts for Relay for Life. You are a beautiful person, and I wish you all the best.

Have a great rest of the week, and a fantabulous weekend.

Hey hero.

I remember having buckets everywhere too. Hang in there. You are doing fabulous and I am so proud of you. We should hang out sometime. I was thinking painting ceramics? Or does that smell bother you? Let me know.

Love you tons,
